Community

Each year, the HBA membership collectively adds more than 1,400 new homes to the areas economic base. However, the HBA's community involvement extends much further. We are firmly committed to giving back to the community in all areas of our expertise. Our members are committed to various ongoing and completed projects that help improve the community in which we live, work and play. For many projects, donations include planning services, construction, labor and materials.

NAHB Student Chapters
The Home Builders Association of Fort Wayne supports Fort Wayne Community Schools Career Academy, Garrett High School Career Development Program and East Allen County Schools Career Center. Over 200 area students participate in these student chapters each year. The HBA supports their endeavors through charitable contributions, on-site interaction/mentorship and opportunities for internships/jobs with our Association member businesses.

Build Your Future Indiana
In partnership with the Indiana Builders Association and the Indiana Construction Roundtable, the Home Builders Association participates in the Build Your Future Indiana program by participating in job fairs, classroom presentations and local community events. Build Your Future Indiana works to fight the skilled labor shortage by curating career information from professionals throughout the construction industry to highlight key aspects and opportunities for each trade career path. Junior Achievement Play4JA
The Home Builders association of Fort Wayne understands the importance of supporting area youth-related organizations, as they play a vital role in creating our future workforce. With this in mind, we partner with Junior Achievement of Northeast Indiana each year for its annual Play4JA event. This fun-filled event provides the perfect environment for our members and students from our local chapters to enjoy networking, as well as supporting JA’s career exploration opportunities.
