This month we are focusing specifically on how and where you can get plugged in. Whether it is a committee, golf outing, Meet Me at 5, Builders’ Showcase or one of the many other events, we have a spot for you to get involved. The first step is simply to ask Beth, Rebecca, myself or any board member and we will help align you with your interests and strengths. ...

This month we are concentrating on membership once again. We have implemented a "Why I'm a Member' video series to help illustrate the benefits of membership from your mouths. Today I am asking for your assistance in sending me or Beth a short, one-minute or less, video explaining why you’re a member. ...

Workforce Development is one of the pillars in the HBA's Strategic Plan. Locally, our concentration with Workforce Development is based on several goals, including: 1) Expand our current scholarship program to include technical schools. 2) Member companies to offer co-op or paid internship opportunities. 3) Establish a Workfoce Development Committee. 4) Partner with nearby HBA's to create youth trade programs that connect members with students to share their success. 5) Enhance association workforce development efforts and collaboration with local learning institutions....

Land use is another area that gets a lot of concentration....

Demonstrate our leadership, stewardship, and impact in our community through charitable activities. ...

The HBA offers a plethora of events, some are even free to attend so that if cost is a factor in you being involved, we crush that obstacle. Let’s strive to grow our attendance at events and take advantage of those opportunities to meet more people and build your network. The more people we have showing up to events, the more we hear about the other pillars of our plan and how to help our members with any problems they may be having....

While membership is important every month, I’d like to take a few minutes to discuss why it’s important. Outside of all the membership perks, including discounts, rebates and many others, membership is important because it helps us grow our five pillars, which include membership, workforce development, government-regulatory affairs, event networking and public relations....

The year has reached the final month on the calendar. Along with that, my time as President must also come to an end. I am grateful for the time I have had as President.
