Getting Busy!

February 7, 2019

Happy February to everyone; I just want to say thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, or helped plan January’s Inaugural event. It sounds as if everyone had a nice time and enjoyed the evening. We had several past presidents in attendance, and three of our state officers were in attendance as well. Thanks to everyone involved, I hope next year we see an even larger turnout.

February is going to be a busy month, with events going on locally, at the state, and national levels. Local representatives will be heading to Indianapolis for state Legislative meetings and the first state meeting of the year, Feb. 4-5. The NAHB International Builders Show is February 19-21 in Las Vegas. If you’re planning on attending the show, please feel free to register to attend the networking night, February 19, at the Loft above Cabo Wabo hosted by the Indiana Builder’s Association. You can find more details, and register to attend on the IBA website.

Locally, we have our annual TableTop and Networking night, February 28, at Ceruti’s. There are still a few tables available for vendors. Being of our larger networking events of the year, it’s a great way to meet new members, seek out potential business partners, and more.

Calling all builders; did you know this year we have incorporated a discount available for the Spring Town and Country? For every event you attend listed below, you will receive $50 off your town and country entry, up to $200. Builders can still receive the full $200 off by simply attending the four remaining events below.

  • TableTop & Networking: February 28
  • Mad Ants Family Outing: March 8
  • Builder Breakfast: March 21
  • General Membership Meeting: April 18

Please contact Beth or Lyndsi to get registered for these events.

I am also excited to share that this month our local board will be meeting with an advisor to help setup a strategic plan for our local association. By doing this, we can work together in a more fluid way and set our future boards up for more success. Much like business planning, when we put something on paper and set a goal it makes reaching goals easier. We’re looking forward to putting together an outline for the years to come.

Stay warm, spring is almost here!

Best regards,
Tyler Kees
HBA President
