The year has reached the final month on the calendar. Along with that, my time as President must also come to an end. I am grateful for the time I have had as President. So many of you went out of your way to say hello, to offer support, and come out to an event if I mentioned it to you. I believe we have laid a solid foundation and taken steps to lay out a vision for the future as a board.
I am very excited for Greg Gerbers to come in and be President in 2020. This will be Greg’s second term as our local President. He has served on our local board of directors for a concurrent period of 12 years, seeing our association through the recession, and into our present-day economy. Much has changed locally during this period of time, all the while Greg has maintained his steadfast willingness to serve in any capacity he can. Locally, Greg is involved in our membership committee, codes committee, and policies and procedures committee. Greg is also our area Vice President through the IBA. There really isn’t something that goes on that Greg is not involved in. I am proud to have been on the board with Greg for the past several years, and I look forward to his time as President in 2020. Thank you, Greg, for everything you do.
We do have some events going on this month that you can still take part in. December 7 we will be hosting a “Pictures with Santa” event at our office downtown. Don’t forget that the HBA office is an official Toys for Tots drop-off location. Children’s toys or chapter books can be dropped off through December 7 at our office as well. We also have another Mad Ants Family Outing on December 13. Details for all of these events can be found here in the newsletter.
Thank you to our 2019 Board of Directors for volunteering your time and offer your knowledge. Thank you to Beth Johnson, for running our day to day operations. Thank you again for allowing me to serve during this year. I am so proud to be a member of our association.
Have a great month everyone,
Tyler Kees
HBA President
