President's Pen - April 2022

April 4, 2022

Hello, everyone—
All the signs of spring are finally here—a failed NCAA bracket, clients asking when their yards will be planted, and, of course, the Town and Country New Home Tour!

This event is one of our largest of the year, and I am happy to say we are 42 properties (35 homes and seven villas) in this year’s tour!  This tour has helped bring in new business for so many in our industry, so please share and spread the word through your social media to produce our biggest turn-out yet. Even as interest rates rise, we are still seeing a high demand for housing in our area and this is the event to show families their new home. Thank you to everyone who is participating and helping market this year's Town and Country.

I also want to thank everyone who came out to our Meet Me at 5 last month at Hop River Brewing Co., as well as the Professional Women in Building event facilitated by Jhonelle Kees and hosted by 3 Rivers Federal Credit Union.  I hope to see more of you at the Spring General Membership Meeting on April 14th. I am thrilled to be able to have in-person events again, and I hope that in doing so, we will continue to have conversations around membership.

As we all know, membership is the driving force of this Association, so the Executive Board has decided to institute an incentive. This year, the member who recruits the most new members will receive a cash prize of $500; second prize receives $250, and third place receives $100. There is still plenty of time left in the year for you to recruit and claim a prize!

This month celebrates Rebecca Cameron's one year anniversary as our Executive Officer, and I know all of us on the Board are grateful to have her. We are in the process of filling the services director position, and we’ll keep you all updated.

In closing, I want to wish the best of luck to all of our Builder and Associate members participating in Town and Country—I hope everyone has a successful tour!
