President’s Pen: By Barclay Allen

April 2, 2018

Happy April to all!!!

Hopefully Spring is here for good! Building is going strong and I hope everyone is keeping busy and productive. The following is a bullet point listing of what is going on with your HBA:

  1. Spring Town & Country: We are so excited about the many homes and developments that will be showcased for the general public to see. The 28th Annual Town & Country New Home & Specialty Retail Tour is the last weekend of April and the 1st weekend of May. (April 28th & 29th, May 5th & 6th). This year’s show will feature 34 homes, 13 villas and 2 Home Building sites. We also have participation from 29 In-Home vendors. Remember, this show is free to the public and good luck with the show!

  2. General Membership Meeting: This year’s April GMM will be held at Goeglein’s on Maysville Road on April 19th. The agenda will be featuring a few local gentlemen that are running for political office. At the time of this writing, Rich Beck (Allen County Commissioner) and local businessman, Tim Smith (Mayor of Fort Wayne), will be sharing with our membership and sharing about their vision for our community and how they are best suited to lead us into the future. It will be an excellent time for everyone to have a chance to meet them and hear their platform. Please be looking for the email flyer on this event from Michelle at the HBA. You do not want to miss this event!!!

  3. Website: We are still working on the new format for the website and hope to have the first phase ready to go live before the Town & Country show at the end of April.
I think everyone will be pleased with the new layout and design. Please give us feedback once it is available.

Last but not least, do not forget to share with others the benefits of being a member of the HBA. We would love
to see our association continue to thrive and grow.

Don’t forget: SMILE, STAY POSITIVE & GET INVOLVED!

    Best regards,
    Barclay Allen, HBA President
