President's Pen - August 2022

August 5, 2022

In the blink of an eye the summer seems to already be coming to an end and the new school year is on the horizon. Even though the shift into fall and the changing of schedules comes every year, for some reason it always seems to sneak up on us.

Firstly, I want to say thank you to all those that joined us at our annual TinCaps night. It was great to see so many colleagues and peers together with their families enjoying a beautiful night at Parkview Field. I also want to say a big thank you to our sponsors who helped make the event possible.

Even though I mentioned the summer is rapidly coming to an end, the HBA social season is still going strong! Make sure to sign you and a partner up for the 2nd Annual
Cornhole Tournament and Wheelbarrow Bingo on August 25th! Teams can be registered by contacting the HBA office or on the HBA website.

Speaking of upcoming events, we also have the 2022 Builders’ Showcase September 22nd-25th. This year’s showcase is full of spectacular homes and sponsors, so I am sure it is going to be a successful weekend for everyone. I am always in awe of the new trends and technology that each builder incorporates into every home, and I’m sure all those who attend will feel the same!

With autumn comes our biggest membership drive of the year, but that means preparations should be well underway. Do you know of a business that would benefit from what our Association does and what we can offer? If so, start building that relationship and having those conversations now. Do you have someone in mind but aren’t sure how to bring up the topic of new membership? Then reach out to us and we can help! As the market changes at rates that are seemingly impossible to keep up with, it’s important to build upon our community and association. We are stronger in numbers and our resources are more impactful the further our reach is. So let’s work together to make this membership drive the most successful one yet!
