Summer has nearly started and the HBA’s social season is already well underway!
I want to start by giving a huge thank you to our speakers at our most recent Builder’s Breakfast; Joe Jordan from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, Rachel Kerr with Northeast Indiana Works, Corey Schoon with the Garret High School Career Development Program, and Chris Roberts from Fort Wayne Community Schools. I also want to express my gratitude to all of our attendees. The focus of our meeting was Workforce Development and how to reach and inspire the next generation to enter into the construction field.
There is still so much work to be done in our community and we are looking for those to assist in our mission. As I’ve mentioned before, we are grateful to Alex Miller who has taken on the role as the head of the Workforce Development Committee, so if you want to get involved please contact him or myself so we can keep our industry strong in Northeast Indiana.
Other events to mention include our Young Professionals event at Van’s Home Center last month. We had a great turn out and I want to thank Van’s for hosting such a successful outing. Make sure to keep an eye out for the details regarding our next event!
The Women in Professional Building also got together for a self-defense course and we are already looking to schedule another opportunity due to great attendee feedback.
Last but certainly not least, we have our HBA Annual Golf Outing on June 23rd at Noble Hawk Golf Links so make sure to get signed up as soon as possible by reaching out to Rebecca. This is definitely not an event to miss as we have so many wonderful sponsors supporting us this year. I hope to see you all there!
