The Home Builders Association of Ft. Wayne, Inc. supports all segments of the residential building industry through advocacy, education, workforce development, networking and community involvement.
Welcome to Membership Month! Thursday, October 8 is designated as our one-day Membership Drive, with recruitment teams competing for more than $600 in prizes. Why is membership so important to the HBA?
Advocacy – With a strong local membership base, we join other Indiana-based HBAs to create a solid foundation as the Indiana Builders Association. We take that one step further as part of the National Home Builders Association. A robust membership not only shows our strength in numbers, but helps sustain our advocacy efforts on all levels.
Networking – Increasing our membership allows for more opportunities to foster mutually-beneficial business connections through networking.
Education – Membership dues and participation at HBA events help us support local NAHB Student Chapters. The Construction Trades Program at Anthis Career Center (FWCS) and the Career Development Program at Garrett High School introduce students to construction trades, provide proper instruction and build the necessary skill sets.
Community Involvement – HBA membership provides rewarding opportunities for giving back to the community we help build. There are usually several projects throughout the year, such as last month, when a group of members joined Beth for The Great American Clean-Up in downtown Fort Wayne.
How can you play a part in growing our membership? Contact friends or business associates and encourage them to join the HBA. On Membership Drive Day, new members save $50 on dues, and have a money-back guarantee. Here are some key resources for reference:

Let me know if you’d like to join a team or create your own team for the Membership Drive. I’m always happy to help members get involved, and I appreciate everyone’s support. Upcoming events in addition to the Membership Drive include our annual Chili Cook-Off (Nov 12) and Meet Me At 5 (Dec. 9). You may also invite a potential new member to our New Member Breakfast on Thursday, November 5. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me and I will do all I can to assist.
Have a great month everyone,
